Das Konzert in der Basilika San Paolo Fuori Le Mura

Concert in Basilica Saint Paul outside the Walls

The Festival Pro Musica e Arte Sacra in Rome celebrates the beauty of sacred music and art.

Over the years, it has hosted prestigious orchestras and choirs from around the globe, including the Wiener Philharmoniker, the Bamberger Symphoniker, and the State Choir of the St. Petersburg Chapel.

Among these, the Swiss National Orchestra had the honor of being invited to present a special program dedicated to two major anniversaries: Anton Bruckner, performing his Third Symphony (dedicated to Wagner), and Giacomo Puccini with the Symphonic Prelude.

In 2024, the Swiss National Orchestra, conducted by Ralf Weikert, joined renowned ensembles such as the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (conducted by Daniel Harding), the Orchestra Concerto Köln, the Vokalensemble Kölner Dom, and the Sankt Florianer Sängerknaben, among others.

The Swiss National Orchestra captivated Rome with an extraordinary performance in the majestic Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls. The audience Haus bene welcomed by an inspiring speech of the Swiss Ambassador in Vatican Mrs. Manuela Leimgruber.
